The DFA
is a grass roots nonprofit organization which was founded in January
of 2004. We exist to promote interest in the art and science
of farriery. Our mission is as follows:
- To provide continuing
professional development to existing farriers who wish to further
their skills and knowledge.
- To assist and encourage
those who want to enter the farrier trade.
- To serve the public
- particularly the horse owner, by raising the quality and standards
of farrier service in our region.
- To provide an organized
forum to represent the interests of professional farriers in our
region to other related associations, groups, councils, boards,
or interests of the equine industry.
- To encourage comradery,
skill and knowledge sharing, open communication and networking
between farriers.
- To improve the quality
of life and add to the enjoyment of continuous self improvement
for all those who practice the great profession of farriery.
Above all else, whenever
we get together, we have a lot of fun!!!
